Submit your shovel-ready project to Victoria's Project Fast-Track Team now.

Do you have a shovel-ready project? You have until June 5 to apply for it to be fast-tracked by the Victorian Government.

State Government's Project Fast-Track team invites submissions for shovel-ready projects that will provide immediate benefits to Victoria’s economy and keep people in jobs.

First phase of priority project applications close Friday June 5.

How to submit your priority project

    - Review the eligibility criteria here

    - Download the priority project application form application form and submit it with the required documents attached in an email to: submissions.BVRT@delwp.vic.gov.au.

Projects prioritised through Project Fast-Track must have an existing application for planning approval and will be required to commence within 12 months of approval.

Projects awaiting determination by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal or a local council will be considered.

Participants in UDIA Victoria's shovel-ready projects advocacy initiative are strongly encouraged to submit NOW before the June 5 cut-off for phase 1.

The selection criteria prioritises job protection and creation and economic recovery and stimulus, as well as alignment to broader Victorian Government policy objectives including affordable and social housing and emissions reduction. Project proponents will be required to demonstrate demand and commercial viability in the current economic context.

    Background.

    - In late March, UDIA Victoria put an industry call-out for 'shovel-ready projects'. We received over 200 projects in 48 hours, which was provided to Government to demonstrate the huge pipeline of projects that could be accelerated to support industry and the economy in the COVID-19 climate.

    - On April 9, UDIA Victoria proposed that Government establish a Development Facilitation Pathway to triage and prioritise shovel-ready projects across the state. We supported the proposal with a robust set of Assessment Criteria that Government could use to determine project eligibility.

    - On 24 April, Government announced establishment of the Building Victoria's Recovery Taskforce to keep our industry running through the COVID-19 crisis. UDIA Victoria sits on the Taskforce Steering Committee. Learn more about the Taskforce here.

    - On May 6, the Victorian Government announced the Taskforce opened Project Fast-Track to ensure Victoria’s priority projects continue, are expedited where necessary and can overcome these unprecedented circumstances. The assessment criteria were informed by our submission.
