CCF & UDIA Joint Industry Forum: Workplace Manslaughter Legistation

The workplace manslaughter laws introduced in Victoria last year could capture workplace practices and actions that are deemed negligent conduct, fatalities that occur in other jurisdictions, or are the direct cause of a mental illness that leads to death, the State Government has revealed.

On Wednesday 26 February the Civil Contractors Federation and Urban Development Institute of Australia are partnering together to host the first CCF / UDIA Industrial Workshop that will focus on the introduction of the new Workplace Manslaughter Legislation bill which was tabled and passed in State Parliament late last year.

A presentation will be made by Cameron Hannebery, Special Counsel Workplace Relations and Safety at Lander and Rogers (legal consultants), addressing key areas of the new legislation and what they mean for businesses in the civil construction sector.

This will be followed by Q and A session facilitated by Danni Hunter, CEO of the UDIA, with a panel of subject matter experts.

DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR OBLIGATIONS AND RIGHTS UNDER THE NEW LEGISLATION!
